Iza Om (Odette Miklaseviciute/Plavinskiene/Plavinskas), born 1972 in Kaunas, Lithuania, draws creative power from nature. Her art is influenced by 20th  Century French Expressionism, linked by the building of a canvas and philosophy of capturing cross sections of nature and the human experience. Her medium varies between digital painting and oil on canvas. She wields an innate color palette of subdued hues and tonal shifts that stems from developing her craft in a temperate climate that left her looking to pull color and light from the quiet. Iza interprets light and shadow of the natural world to express her intimate relationship with its subtle beauty. These qualities, coupled with deliberate viewpoints and compositions, form Iza Om’s unique style.

Iza Om holds a BA in Fine Arts and Art Teaching from Vilnius Art Academy, Vilnius, Lithuania. She lives and creates between New York, NY and Angra do Heroismo, Terceira.
